Inhumanity or insanity

Hello you guys. I wanna talk about something that has been bugging me. People might think its normal but it's been getting worse all around me.
So last weekend, I was on my way to abuja from Jos, we got into traffic in Gidan Waya, and there huge mob of mostly northern looking men. After waiting and asking around, we found out the traffic was because some men who are part of a muslim brotherhood group created a roadblock at a checkpoint and wouldn't let anyone pass, even after vans of soldiers came to the scene.
Their reason was that a little boy threw a banana peel at the check point and the soldiers beat him up until he passed out. That right there is my problem. The way some Nigerians act like they're above others or above the law. Everyday, soldiers, police men, civilians, lecturers, politicians and anyone with a little power abuses that power. Soldiers beat up a little boy coz he littered the place. A mob murdered boys in Aluu community because they thought they stole. People burn thieves up with tyres and petrol. A girl was stripped and molested because she stole a phone. Two women were stripped and pepper was put in their genitals because they stole. And one died. Lecturers slap students and worse. A guy was killed because he was gay.
    I. Don't. Get. That!
It SERIOUSLY bothers me! Whatever punishment you are giving to these people because you feel they deserve it is even worse than their crime. What happens to you after you murder a thief? Is murder better than stealing? Should you be murdered also? Some Nigerians are so quick to judge and condemn. Most of these people are just hypocrites. What happened to law? What happened to human rights? What happened to being humane?
If we go on like this, power and money would be the death of us. Don't abuse your position and your ability. Don't do something just because you can, or you're in a position to do it. Always think about the next person. This life is only a pot of beans and one day it'll be over! Don't underestimate how quick it can be over. Just like that. And I believe in curses and bad karma. Watch what you do to people. It never just ends. We will pay. And for those who support street prosecution, we are not barbarians. We are not the African cave men that some people think we are.
Always live by God. Live by the law. And live by love. Always speak up when you feel wrong about a situation, and advice people in power to do the same. No one is "holy pass" another. The thief, the Homosexual, the murderer and average Joe all have equal rights. Have a great day. Xo
